Graduate Teaching Associate and Research Assistant Positions

All applicants are encouraged to apply for Teaching Associate and Research Assistant Positions.

Graduate Teaching Associates

Part-time Teaching Associate positions are available (pending available funding) for students enrolled in the graduate program in Kinesiology. Positions are awarded on a competitive basis and dependent upon the staffing needs of the department. Teaching Associates serve as instructors for undergraduate lab classes and pro-act physical activity classes.

Two letters of recommendation are required.

Note: A Teaching Associate position does NOT provide a tuition/fee waiver NOR does it provide a waiver of out-of-state fees.


Graduate Research Assistants

Part-time Research Assistant positions are available (pending available funding) for students enrolled in the graduate program in Kinesiology. Positions are awarded on a competitive basis and dependent upon the staffing needs of the on-going research projects. Research Assistants are trained and supervised by faculty members and may serve on a variety of different research projects or STRIDE programs. Duties may include serving as a project manager for STRIDE, data collection, data management and analysis, literature reviews, public relations, program implementation for community based obesity/chronic disease prevention programs, focus groups, and community outreach activities.

Note: A Research Assistant position does NOT provide a tuition/fee waiver NOR does it provide a waiver of out-of-state fees.

In the cover letter please speak to your qualifications as a research assistant, such as written or oral communication skills, ability to take direction, organizational skills, ability to work independently or as a member of a team, etc. Two letters of recommendation are also required.
